Ancient Temples Of Kalachuri Group - History details

The group of ancient Kalachuri temples is located in Amarkantak, a pilgrimage town in the Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh. Constructed mainly during the reign of Kalachuri Maharaja Karnadeva (1042–1072 AD), the temples showcase the distinct Kalachuri architectural style. The complex, now maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), is situated behind the Narmada Kund, near the source of the Narmada River.
