Sultan Gari Archaeological Park - History details

Sultan Garhi is Delhi’s oldest Islamic mausoleum, built in 1231 CE by Sultan Iltutmish for his son Prince Nasiruddin Mahmud. Located in Vasant Kunj, it stands on rocky Aravalli terrain. The fortified tomb reflects early Indo‑Islamic architecture. An important fact is its significance as Delhi’s earliest Muslim tomb.
